These Boos Were Made For Walking

Inspired by a popular TikTok audio and the looming shadow of Halloween, this shirt came together in just over a week. Keep scrolling for process shots, or click below to purchase the real deal!

From doodle to design…

The beginnings of this design started out as a doodle. Above the two figures, you can see me trying to recreate the font Flavory by Letterhead Studios. I used this font through most of the digital design project, but switched to Cherish Today by Seemly Fonts before production.

Auditioning ghostly shapes…

Drawing ghosts is fun because they can really be any shape you want them to be. There are so many variations! But this becomes a problem when you need to pick just one to put on a t-shirt.

The final design appears…

It’s easy to think that good designs appear out of thin air, but they come from a multitude of different sources, inspirations, and previous drawings. I had never drawn a ghost with all these elements put together before, but if I look back through my sketches, I can see all the pieces were there. It’s important to create, even if none of it ends up as a finished project, because one day, all those part will come together and you’ll get your own little dancing ghostie.
